What the grant went towards

Badminton Southland has received a total of $1,852,329 in combined grant funding from the ILT Foundation and Invercargill Licensing Trust since May 2006.  The funding went towards coaching costs, high performance development programmes, equipment, scholarships, the upgrade of facilities and more.

What the grant means to the community group/organisation

“For organisations like ours, without the ILT and ILT Foundation contribution every year, whether it is annually or special grants to get our players away to competition outside the region, it wouldn’t be achievable,” Badminton Southland general manager Rata Hopa said.

“We are very thankful in being successful to get the money every year.”
