About the organisation

Jubilee Budget Advisory Service has been operating in Southland for about 20 years, helping to build financial capability and resilience in the community by providing budget advice, information and education.

Its 11 qualified advisers provide a free and confidential budget advice service to the general public.

About 70% of its work is generated through referrals from Work and Income NZ.

The Invercargill-based office is affiliated to the National Federation of Family Budgeting.

 What the grant went towards

The ILT Foundation Jubilee Budget Advisory Service with $20,000 to assist with operating costs for the next 12 months.

This is the twelfth year ILT Foundation has provided support towards the service’s operating costs.

What the grant means to the organisation/community group

Jubilee Budget Advisory Service manager Sharon Soper said the annual grant from the ILT Foundation  haallowed them to grow the service substantially, providing a continued professional service to individuals and families.

Specifically, the grant had helped with their ongoing costs, like paying rent, phone, power, stationery and computer costs, she said.

This reliable funding is essential to our service making a positive long-term difference to the people in our community,” she said.

We are extremely grateful to the ILT Foundation for the ongoing financial support and commitment to Jubilee over the years and look forward to a continued positive relationship in the future.”
