ILT Foundation gaming venues are open
19 June, 2020
ILT Foundation gaming venues throughout Invercargill have reopened.
The gaming venues had been temporarily closed in line with the Government directive to support the community to “unite against Covid19”.
Venues reopened on May 21 with a reduced number of machines operating.
When New Zealand moved to Alert Level One on Tuesday, June 9, all of the machines were restarted.
Community funding ‘temporarily suspended’ due to Covid19
Closing gaming venues was an unprecedented situation for the ILT Foundation.
With gaming venues temporarily closed, community funding had not been generated, meaning Grants decisions had to be suspended.
Applicants who submitted applications during this time had been contacted.
New applications made online have been accepted and will be presented at the next Grants meeting scheduled for June 24.
Please note, with venues closed for 10 weeks and without funding being generated, there will be an impact on the funding available for the next 12 months.
Applicants are asked to contact the team at the ILT Foundation before making an application.
“We will be looking for additional information on applications to assist the trustees to make grant decisions,” ILT Foundation manager Lisa-Maree Fleck said.
“Establishing community benefit and how the benefit can be measured is a priority moving forward for us.”
